In contrast to traditional golf, urban golf can be played almost anywhere: in a field, in a town or city, in a park or in a gravel pit. The targets are marked objects such as buckets or trees, for instance, rather than holes. It’s played with a softer ball and, preferably, with old clubs.
In April 2018, the city of Winterthur opened the first permanently installed urban golf course in Switzerland. Fribourg has already had a shorter city golf course circuit for much longer.
